Photos with graduated backdrops
i've never done this for my carving but I know you can work photos in
image processing applications such as Photoshop . Digitally photograph
your piece against a differently colored background, "select" out your
sculpture based on color range, "place" it in some custom background of
your choice. Photoshop can generate gradients and allow layers (other
images, patterns, etc) to be combined as well (different degrees of
transparency, etc). You can spend much, much time with Photoshop, but
too much playing around looks phony I think
There are also other sophisticate packages out there

how this is done?
