Hi Dulce... Trow & Holden is another source... they also call
them shims and wedges. Home depot won't even know what you are
talking about. I am, however in agreement with some of the
other advice. You are taking a chance on destroying your
boulder by trying to split it this way- particularily if you
have not used them before. I often use a carpenter's hand saw
on soft stone (In my case limestone) to finish a cut started
with a circular saw and fiber masonry blade. You can use a
cheapie saw as you'll eventually ruin it, and an inexpensive saw
will last as long as a real expensive one cutting stone.
Feather and wedge sets are great tools, and one can do
remarkable things with them like forming radius breaks etc, but
they do take some practice to learn the proper technique.
