Subject: where to buy feathers and wedges

Hi all,

Its funny how often this comes around and just as always I find myself
thinking if only they had my saw, 6'+ electric powered diamond coated teeth,
on wheels, all I do pretty much is roll the saw up to the boulder, rest the
blade on top of it, set up a hose with a tiny dribble of water and turn it
on. I can then go back in to the studio and get on with something else.

While something approximating two people cut my stone without complaint.

I don't think I've ever really mastered splitting stone (marble), probably
because I haven't done enough but quite often when the saw has over half way
through a lage boulder I pop 3 or 4 small wedges into the cut and tap them a
few times, invariably the sound changes and the stone splits the rest of the
way.

For a little while I got interested in using "silent explosives" to split
stone. I'm funny with my tool selection I'll spend $1000 making a diamond
saw but always find a reason not to buy a top of the range hammer drill.

"Art is not the bread, but the wine of life."

"Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time."
Thomas Merton, 'No Man Is an Island'

"Art evokes the mystery without which the world would not exist."
Rene Magritte

"Art is made to disturb. Science reassures. There is only one valuable thing
in art: the thing you cannot explain."
Georges Braque

"Art is a passion or it is nothing."
