Setting up a mobile letter-cutting rig
Hi Everyone,
I'm new to the group. I've been lurking, and you all are very helpful with
those just starting with stone. I've been schmoozing an old cemetery
letter-cutter here in town, but he's very skittish, and I think he's bolted
for good. I'd like to set up a rig with as good a new sandblasting rig:
compressor, tanks, etc. that I can afford, and a good used truck Any advice
would be appreciated. Should I get an old (maybe 1980's) PTO-ready truck?
Or should I go with a gas-powered compressor? Rotary screw compressor? I
know NOTHING! I expect I'll be driving over bad roads in all kinds of
weather with it, but it might also get me started on in-shop stuff, until I
can afford one for the shop too. I've heard everything from 8cfm to 100cfm,
so I confess, I really don't get that part. Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance,
Shannon
