Chisels
Hi Maureen and all,
OK...everyone has me convinced to go back to my original love, which was of
course working by hand. I have access now to the odd things like lift
trucks etc. that I had no way of acquiring before, so I think working out of
my shop here instead of driving all over hill and dale daily probably would
be a better deal as I get older than the sandblasting of death
dates....though I think I will still at least have that capability.
Everyone keeps telling me what kind of chisels I need, but where does one
get these? Especially the green chisels? I have a couple of slate carving
ones (they're red) that I had to have a carver in Rhode Island order for me
from Europe. Is there somewhere here in the states I could get them easily?
I assume I'd need a diamond sharpening pad. I think I can find that OK. Or
should I use a grinder? Thanks for the encouragement. Are you still in
Rhode Island? I'm jealous of your domain name. Hope it's OK if I ask
questions now and then? I'll start building the biceps to get to where I
can carve all day.
Shannon
