Pretenders
I agree with Craig re: the nature of this site. I joined SIMPLY due to my
newfound passion for working with stone. I have enjoyed the writings of
those more advanced then myself &have tried to advance my techniques daily
based on these readings. When I had a challenge with slate recently, my
question was met with a lot of friendly, helpful advice. I feel fortunate
tobe able to exchange thoughts with such skilled craftsmen (craftspeople).
If my work were to be "called out" I would not want to hear a gasp of
"PRETENDER" but instead feel the support of those who have ran where I am
learning to crawl.
Count me in the white collar crowd - and allow me to say I feel blessed
everynight to roll my sleeves up &carve a piece of creation into my own
creation.
You weren't born working with stone Tom... and we aren't born with Phds.
They take a lot of hard work and commitment. I am hoping the tenure of my
life expands upon my newfound skills &my work will be masterful someday
also.
