Granite River Rock Stonecutting
John,
I don't understand what the dimension is of the hexagon granite stone
you are starting with. Are you trying to have a split faced stone on
the exterior? How thick is the veneer that you are building? Generally
speaking, splitting granite works best when you are splitting it in
equal halves, and then splitting the pieces in half again, and so on.
BUT, it depends on you learning the grain and using the right tools
for the job.
So the questions continue, do you have any pitching tools? Are the
sides of the stone sawed or split to begin with? There are lots of
tricks to the trade, but I need to know more.
