Chisels: pointed vs flat?

Quoted text begins. But I'm not sure when I would be using it (major excavations? finer
work? smoothing?), and how to choose one (materials, the different

Juliana,
If you go to:
http://trowandholden.com/
they have recommended starter sets of chisels for different types of
stone. Their online catalog is very helpful. They are also very
patient with people making their initial purchases. Ask for Norm, and
tell him what you want to do. He will fix you up.
