Sealing Marble
Hello Group,
A church in my area was recently given a 3 foot tall, TN pink marble madonna
that they plan to place outside permanently. Should this sculpture be sealed
beforehand? If so, with what?
To prevent theft, they also plan to mount it on a small concrete slab with
two pieces of rebar set in the concrete. This will require the drilling of
two holes into the base of the sculpture. What is the recommended procedure
for drilling holes in marble?
Also, once the holes are drilled, what's the best adhesive to use on the
rebar/in the holes when fitting the piece onto its permanent base (the
concrete slab w/rebar)?
Thanks,
Hap Hagood
