rebar
About the rebar and stainless steel pins I think stainless is ok but
when I can I like to use bronze rod. Stainless has only been around
for about 100 years and no one knows how it will hold up in the long
run. Bronze has been used for thousands of years in sculpture with
good results also some sculptors with more expense than I have said
that they have been getting away from using epoxy in large scale
sculptures because after 20 years or so the epoxy begins to cause
problems. It doesn't expand and contract with the stone due to changes
in weather. They are now using a silicon based adhesive made for stone
work.
If you do use stainless don't cut it with a blade that was previously
used on regular steel as it will then rust where you made the cut.
