Old stone repair?
Several years ago I was working for a mason who got a call from a
lady: her 8' x 8" marble column, probably from a 1500 - 1600's French
monastary, fell over and broke into 3 pieces. The boss got some extra
heavy duty construction adhesive, we schlobbed it back together again,
I mixed up some straight Portland mortar and we pointed the crack .
I'm curious, in y'alls expert opinions, how this should have been
done?
