rebar
Hi all,
One of the things that has come up a couple of times for me regarding this
topic is that even though we recommend stainless steel pins and a suitable
epoxy most construction engineers would say rebar and Ramset Chemset (a
polyester adhesive). The reason for this is that Chemset has been
exhaustively tested under all sorts of conditions and is very widely used in
the construction industry, meaning that it is considered very reliable and
hence their reason for insisting on it.
I have increasingly found that for sculptures going in to public places we
are required to back our choice of fixing system to the satisfaction of
civil engineers. If we had a sound reference to quote when using stainless
and epoxy it could be very helpful.
