Introducing myself & question
Dear Glen,
If that green marble is verde antique say thanks to your wife---it is a
beautiful stone but it wreaks your tools and tends to shatter. I have had
good luck drilling in granite with sds welded bits---the trick will be to
make sure the dust gets clear of the the hole or it will bind up. Drill a
small hole first all the way and let water and air clear the passage----use
only the hammer function---if you twist the drill it will bind up and break.

PS: Take a weekend trip to Marble Colorado and check out carving
community---the quarry is awesome.
