metal inclusions
Quoted text begins.Just out of curiosity, does anyone know how these metal kernels come about?
End of quote.
What metal are they?
Norman,
My Dad knew an old bloke in the bush who was forever muttering about 'Iron
Pyrites', seems he was a gold prospector on the verge of discovery (or
psychosis), and the traces of fool's gold led him ever onwards. Whenever he
would appear, people would say, 'Look out, here comes the Iron Pirate!'
I've found a few pieces of fool's gold in both igneous and metamorphic rock-
quite a thrill! Do your samples look shiny, cubic and yellowish gold like
these?: http://www.mines.edu/fs_home/jhoran/ch126/pyrite.htm
