Bush hammer or pneumatic point
Wow Bill... that looks like one mean "Monstah" ( so, I apologize.. Halloween
is looming) of a carbide tipped hammer. I am guessing the head weight is
4-5 pounds, and with the fiberglass handle to reduce the shock... man.. that
has to deliver quite the punch. I have used flat blade (hard faced) hammers
in the same way to try to make pocket and edge cuts in stone with varied
effectiveness. I find them very effective on softer stone, but they tend to
bounce on the hard stuff. That hammer looks like it could rip anything
short of a new tomorrow. I'd be tempted to hit it with a medium to short
handled six pounder with kind of a dead arm swing. What devilry do you
swing when you use it? If you hit that with a 26 pounder you might change
the earth's rotation? dang!
