Question: Selling stone scupltures online
Hi Tim, I've sold a number of paintings on ebay up to 7K. Right now
ebay is a place to buy, not to sell -- it's pretty dead. Secondly, your
perception of ebay is generally correct - most of the buyers are looking
for great deals by established artists, not works of art by folks who
don't have a bunch of museum sales already. The painting that I sold
for 7K was a picture by Frederic Arthur Bridgeman that would have been
18K+ in a New York/London gallery. But then I only paid $3800 for it
<g >. I've looked in the sculpture categories on ebay for the same
reason you have and have found that it's dominated by junk, which in the
long run means few serious buyers. Okay, that's my experience, YMMV.
good luck, g2
