Quoted text begins.John,
Ok - Limestone is something I'll have to lookinto - where to
End of quote.
get a good size piece of it number one - I'm outside of
Philadelphia - I can only afford hand tools so I imagine that
leaves me with a hammer, chisel and rasp. I have a hammer
drill that could take a good size grinder - what kind of grinder
wheel would I look for for limestone?
Trying this again. Guess I forgot to delete enough of the
origional, and my reply was bounced back to me. I grew up in
Philadelpia, and am not familiar with any local limestone used
for carving. As to how to find some, you can try building
material salvage yards (Could be a source for some nice Indiana
LS), masonry supply or landscaping supply companies, or see if
there is still a stonemill operating in the area. (May be one
down towards Baltimore)
As to grinding wheels, Granquartz, or Granite City Tool are good
sources. Both have sales people who will talk you through what
you need for what you want to do.
Good Luck,
