website question
Dear Tom,
George is right, by my way of thinking the best option is have a site with a
set number of pages built on templates that allows you to change images and
text whenever you like, mine is done that way, click at bottom of message.
This gives you the best of both worlds and will probably save you a lot of
money and frustration.
Re: a lot of money, ever time you have to get your web builder to change
anything they will charge, so what looks like a cheap first up cost can turn
into on-going expenses.
The other hugely important thing about having a site is to identify exactly
why you want it, once this is done you have to be able to communicate your
aims to the nerd that's going to build it, this can be very difficult indeed
for two reasons nerds can often be very poor communicators and have a habit
of giving you what they think you should have or worse their current style.
Eventhough artists are in the business of making things visual they often
make some really crazy decisions for their web sites and can accidentally
give visitors to the site the wrong impression about what kind of artist
they are.
Above all they must be easy and quick to use.
