Tenn. Marble
Hey Gary,
I've played with Tenn. Pink over the years, and consider it to be one of the
best. I've carved some very old stock that was left outdoors for decades.
The outside was slightly etched and frosted, but 1\32" below the surface it
was perfect. It's a tough stone, but worth the effort.
Tenn. marble has been used extensively in the monument and building industry
for the last hundred years, so if you do some serious scrounging you might
find some great deals.
Eastern Tenn. is the source, especially around Knoxville . The Tenn. Marble
Co. is there along with other dealers. You can find them on the net. Check
with you local monument dealer if you need a middle man .
Good luck.
