Subject:
hiring an apprentice
Hi
I live in upstate NY USA and looking for an apprentice stone carver.
Would any one of you who has had experience with apprentices tell me
what the procedure is and if your experience was positive. I have a
fair amount of work , not enough time to do it all but but
unfortunately not enough projects to keep a full time employee. I also
can not find anybody qualified to help. I would like to Have an
apprentice that I could train in the techniques that I use but I know
that it will take months for Him to be able to help in any ways. My
question is do I have to pay him while He is in training or would my
teaching him be compensation enough until I can Hiring him to work for
me? Any input would be appreciated.
