All very interesting. Here in Texas, and many other states also
, I suppose, the only requirement for calling one's self a stone
mason is showing up on a job site with a trowel and a hammer in
hand. That's it. One of the reasons I have quit contracting
masonry work. No one is willing to pay for quality professional
work when the stone can be slopped up on the cheap.
