Hello All, and a belated seasons greetings to everyone . I've been reading
the posts regarding the use of CAD, and other machinery, and while the use
of such equipment is a sign of the times, let us not forget about the
love/hate relationship that every stone carver develops each and every time
he/she picks up a hand tool, we have all spilled blood while working stone,
we have all loved some of our work and we have all been very disappointed
with some of our work, but we learn from going through these emotions,
technology certianly does have its place, but a machine cannot and will not
be able to have emotion as part of its finished piece, I think of the whole
range of emotion I sometimes go through in the run of a few hours and
whether I am aware of it or not and whether I like it or not those emotions
do show themselves in my work...thats what makes my work different and
unique, and really is'nt that what stone carving is all about ?

Shawn
