we seem to be confusing things. uniqueness is brought by the maker (via
intentional, unconscious, and uncontrolled inputs). emotional response
is brought by the viewer. unaware of whether a piece is made by man or
machine the viewer will respond as he/she will respond. repetition of
the art doesn't diminish it per se. viewing a unique piece the second
time, or many times, usually reduces the reaction as well. finally,
neither man nor machine is needed. almost all of us respond emotionally
to a sunset -believers and nonbelievers alike.
