Subject: wet finish

Hello john/ group I am a fellow lurker but may have 2 bits to throw in on your question.
I work at making granite kitchen and bath tops, our standard for a high shine is a 3000 grit finish follwed up by tinoxide buffed in with a felt pad, and a liberal dose of para wax. (sorry, can't recall the brand of wax at the moment) what color is your granite?
Thanks to all for a very informative forum.

Quoted text begins.Currently, I am at the completion stage of a granite and bronze sculpture and would like to know of a final finish to apply to the granite to get the wet look. Right now it is at the 1500 grit stage but I would really like to bring it up a bit more.
When I carve hardstones like jade or quartz I normally finish with a Cerium Oxide slurry but this time I don't think it's going to work as well as I would like. I think it needs a penetrant of some sort. I'm open to suggestions if anyone can help me out.
