Quoted text begins. How did you get to your
surface. Did you carve it or are you just polishing up.
If you carved it you could well have put some crazing
into it yourself.
I am a deceitful spirit who cares not for sincerity. I
have bought the bottle of elixar the which bestows deep
hue to even rough surfaces. It is a reversible spell and
will come out with a naptha wash. Yes it will require who
knows how much sporadic renewal: for all eternity. Is
your eternal soul at stake? Can you resist the
temptation?

Hi Bill,
Yes this is carved but I'm pretty sure the fine lines are just a part of the
native rock. I'm not used to putting any treatments on stone and, like
George, I did cringe on trying it. Luckily, there was not much effect and
for me the staining wouldn't be much of a problem, since it is a dark
stone. Thanks to all, for the friendly tips. I have a fairly good bead on
what to do next.
I wish I could remember where that building was. If this turns out I might
go looking for it. I might get lucky and flag down a dump truck driver
looking to make a quick 50. Just joking. I wouldn't desecrate someone
else's work for some materials. That piece was already on the sidewalk when
I showed up. Besides, that was over 8 years ago and I haven't seen any All
Points Bulletins out for a kidnapped rock, so I guess I'm in the clear. I
don't think any witnesses could make a positive ID anyways afterall. It's
funny how one mans doorstop could be anothers work of art. On the flip
side, one mans work of art could be anothers doorstop.
Cheers to all rockhounds.
John
