Bill +
hi all,

Quoted text begins."TO All.....I have seen some pics of Bill's work.......as lovely
as his writings !!" I second that.
End of quote.
My + concerns "American Woman" the much discussed Santomayor work, I was
glad to see George noticed enough about it to say that he was changing his
mind about XBall.
My point is that I'm surprised that nobody has really got stuck into it on
the grounds of what it seems to depict, the artist's choice to use the US
flag in his photo sets the tone that this is some way a serious and
considered depiction of American women. From my perspective if I was
American the idea of a scantily clad, probably drunk, scrawny woman draping
herself on a grand piano being used to make such an all encompassing
statement about national womanhood would leave me feeling very angry
indeed - I know for sure if an Australian male artist had done the same
thing Australian women would be baying for his blood. Of course if it was
called "Tart on a piano" I wouldn't have much to complain about.
Best regards to all Clive
