Suiseki
Quoted text begins.I find the concepts behind "scholar stones" and other scholar objects most
engaging
End of quote.
Clive: Thanks for the links to the Suiseki sites - I had a distant
acquaintance with the subject but your references to other sites were an
eye-opener for me. Being a member of the Stonelist is like having a
multi-human Google search machine working on my behalf, with only the
vaguest search parameters. Every day brings a new item or subject to noodle
and be amazed by............
I was also fascinated by the role of the Suiseki artist in the presentation
process becuse there were numerous examples of stones that were cut or
truncated as part of the selection process, begging the question: Where does
the Suiseki stop and the stonecarver/medium manipulator begin?
Thanks,
Chaz
