Suiseki
Quoted text begins.Where can one buy the bases for suiseki stones at wholesale prices? Also
those thin bases that seem filled with sand. Some bases seem custom
carved. How about some more info on bases? Thanks.
End of quote.
An excellent book on the subject is,Surprisingly enough,Suiseki by Willi
Benz(ISBN 0-8069-6601-7).
While my brother, who has a PHD in vulcanology, though it was lacking in the
scientific aspects he and I both liked the suggestions for finding, cleaning
and making bases as well as the pics of pieces in prominent collections.
