Japanese Sculptor
Regarding the black granite and rouge,
I like the contrast of color and texture of the piece. Its a beautiful
sculpture.
I think it color is applied . My first thought was that rouge referred to
rouge polishing compound that's associated with metal polishing. A lot of
different kinds of black granite has crossed my banker, and I've never seen
a color show up in the broken , textured area of granite that didn't come
through in the polished area, loud and clear.
A question for someone familiar with rouge used for polishing, is it oil
based, and if it was aggressively heated, and buffed into the granite ,
would it permanently stain the stone?
Also, maybe there is a problem in the translation of rouge from Japanese to
english?
