Introduction :)
Welcome to the list. I would second Don's recommendations about
the the Leibson and Meilach books and would urge you to start with soft
stone like soapstone or alabaster (NM should have lots available, perhaps
some you can even go and pick up for free, Bill Woodward would know). The
Cami book has lots of beautiful pictures but I didn't find it too
informative for basic carving, although its got good information for
