New Air Hammer Problem
Hello Everyone,
I am having a problem with my Cuturi E air hammer. It has not stopped
completely (which I normally fix with the standard bump against my wood
stand), but it is not traveling a full piston stroke. It is making plenty
of noise as the air travels through it. It vibrates and will carve a small
surface amount through this vibration, but as soon as I put any pressure
against the chisel it binds and stops working. I can push the chisel into
the air hammer by hand and stop it without much pressure.
I have taken the barrel apart, cleaned the piston and barrel interior with
kerosene, put back together, and reoiled with no improvement. Does anyone
have any idea as to what may be happening and how to fix it? Are there any
O-rings or gaskets in these tools which wear out?
Thank you,
John Halter
