New Air Hammer Problem

Does anyone have any idea as to what may be happening and how to fix it?

John,
Sometimes an air bottle can get gummed up with residue in the fine air
ducts through the casing. I leave my tool soak in a mineral solvent bath,
periodically checking to see if it has freed up, then I re-lube it with
air tool oil.
Not sure of the details of the solvent, other than that it is made
by Caltex. Automotive supply shop may be a source, it's really just
extra heavy-duty degreaser.
Failing that, get your tool to a specialist air tool repair shop.
Simon
