a few art comments (quotes)
Bill,
I'm sorry to say that I did go to the symposium from hell site. My sarcastic
nature would take over if I found my self stuck in such a situation.
What does a stone carver do with a block of Styrofoam? My project would
involve a vacuum cleaner set on reverse to keep boulders of "stone"
hoovering ( pardon the pun) in air.
Or,, using styrofoam balls in a ping pong or doge ball game. Of course the
participants have to be bruised and bleeding.
performance art and stone seems to be a subject worthy of exploration.
I've learned first hand about the relationship between the arts and
politics. All participating parties want something out of the process, be it
recognition, money, a few more votes or just a few seconds in front of the
tv camera. It's not a bad thing, just human nature.
