I agree! I love that stone can really take a beating. Who needs to go to
the gym when you can bang away at a stone? I didn't do very well at
sculpture in school because it was all clay-based, which I found to be
too..."squishy". I wonder why stone sculpture was never introduced into
the curriculum.
And there's nothing wrong with a shiny, smooth surface. Texture is good,
but I love being able to run my fingers over my sculptures knowing it
took me hours to make it so smooth. :-D
