Quoted text begins.I wouldn't mind hearing some suggestions about that myself, Lisa. I
usually
go at it with an angle grinder or Dremel, carving ruts and creating high

End of quote.
A med to small core drill will do the trick. Its a tube with teeth or
carbide or diamond at the bottom of the rim. It normally has a drill bit at
centre. The trick would be keeping the holes close together and leaving at
least 1/2" of floor to the box. The reason for that is when the drilling of
a hole is complete a slight tap on the top of the 'plug' left in centre will
remove it but one needs to gaurd against the 'floor of the box breaking.
Then its 'Riffler' time.small shaped files. Tip on them...When you has
finished using one (Riffler) brush it off with a brass brush to remove the
alabaster before setting down. The stone dust will attract moisture and rust
off the point tips.
If you clean off the dust they will last very much longer.turner Bill
