Gabriel,
Don't know what breed your air bottle is, but ones I have used are held together
with a brass shear pin. That is, a pin that needs to be sheared off to get the
thing open.
Put the bottom of your tool in a vice, use a spanner around the top to snap the
pin and get it open. Replace the pin with a little piece of brass rod (brazing
rod is OK) when you put it together again.
What tool are you using?
