Hi Ford. Took a look at your site.... Really nice work.

The sinks I refered to have all been for a fovorite architect in
the LA area. His favorite stone is the Texas Limestone Known as
Cordova Creme-a relatively soft and porous stone. Years ago I
asked him how they deal with the staining, etching etc, and he
told me that all of that was part of the charm. Of course, he
has also been known to acid wash the stone, and beat it up with
a bicycle chain prior to installation also. (antiquing the
stone I suppose) Since these are for the most part powder room
and bathroom features, they do not have water standing in them
on a regular basis, so there is not the problem of water wicking
through to the outside as with a fountain bowl. He does use a
sealer - impregnator, and if you email me direct, I will refer
you to what my favorite recommendation is after years of
experimentation. I do not feel comfortable pushing a brand here
on the list.

As for the sinks themselves, Mostly single basins, but
occassionally double basins with vanity area inbetween. Usually
round (half balls) about 14 inches in diameter, 7 inches deep in
stock around 10 inches thick. Has been a bit of variation as to
size and shape, and once in a while there is a real fancy one
with carved backsplash to the ceiling. Sorry to say that I do
not have a picture of one on my web site at this time. Hope to
when we get the site revamped.
