antebellum stone work
Malcolm,
I'm now getting a monthly news publication called Slippery Rock Gazette. It
is mainly focused on the stone industry in the south. Marble is it's main
focus. This month has the first installment of a history of marble working
in Tennessee, going back to its beginning around 1836. Mr Claude Ledgerwood
, the author, is a retired life long marble man and might be a great
resource for you.
The paper lists a phone number so I'll pass it on. 865.293.0232. They are in
Tazwell Tenn.
Good luck
George Graham
