End of quote.
Bill,
Is Acord the sculptor who also happens to be the only individual
civilian in the world who is licensed to handle radioactive materials,
and has his license number tattooed on the back of his neck? I remember
an article about him from long ago, that featured a granite horse head
on an obelisk, that had radioactive material inside. Apparently he got
into the collection of radioactives via a certain type of dishware
popular in the 50's that used uranium as a constituent in its red glaze.
When that didn't satisfy him in terms of potency, he took off from there.
Richard Misrach has been one of my heroes for years, as I started out in
photography. His "Desert Cantos" are like holy writ for modern
landscapists.
Thanks for the URLs.
