Tin Oxide vs Zinc Oxide
Hi Hap, I'm far from an expert, but I've just used silicon carbide wet
papers up to 1000 grit to finish a variety of alabasters. I've actually
taken some down to 2000 grit, but I'm not sure that you gain much. I've
hand sanded all of my pieces which have been fairly small (i.e. less than
15" X 12" X 10". There was a long discussion of what to use to finish
alabaster (marble sealer, linseed oil, etc.) and my guess is that if you
check the archives under "finishing alabaster" you'll find a bunch of
information. atb, g2
