great die grinder buy
Greetings once again carvers, this must be my list day or something
<g >. Hey Bob Hackett, what a great suggestion, I'll try that out but
the overheating issue raised by John is worth considering. Also some of
these tools have open ports near the working end and you just can't
really get a sleeve/filter/patch over them without making things
awkward. Still a very good idea for the rear vents.
I have to admit that I've fallen in love with my makita electric die
grinder as a carving tool and I've just found a great deal on another
one. This is a variable speed makita 1/4 grinder that Amazon.com has
tucked away for $260 -- my other searches revealed prices that were at
least $90 higher. In addition, they have a $25 off code, its
TH25JANFEBV5 and free shipping so the total cost was $234.99. The good
thing about a variable speed grinder is that you can use low speed bits
rather than just take your chances on their coming apart at 25,000 rpm
and ending up lodged in your forhead <g >. You have to work a bit to
find this grinder. Go to amazon.com and search for Makita GD0800C but
then make sure you find it in Tools. It comes up under several other
categories but none of them have the $25 discount. You might want to
check that sale code, it may be different for every purchaser. Okay, I
came home early to do some carving and here I am on the 'puter <g >. I
just didn't know how long that price at Amazon would last. Good carving, g2
