non-swivelling pin
Thanks for the pin advice.
Having heard Bill W. propose the niceties of prophylactic
sleeves I could hardly resist putting such a thing into
practice. It's harder to do and will be more expensive: a
no brainer. Bill explained how the sleeves will protect a
softer stone should the piece be jarred or reassembled
frequently.
Now the epoxy around the greasy or plastic wrapped rod
would be quite sensible and I thank you for that but it is
too late. I have gone off to my local machine shop boyz
who say they can rig a slotted pin, slotted bushing key
lock deal out of what-not lying around so I said do it!
