Hi and a Boulder splitting question
Oops it appears my paragraph on the size and material of the boulder was
lost in my editing.
The boulder appears to be igneous rock with no easily recognizable layering,
I don't know enough about rock identification to tell you more on its type.
The rock is half buried so I don't know its exact size. It's protruding 1 ½
feet out of the ground and is roughly oval in shape on the surface with the
oval being 3 ½ feet by 2 ½ feet. I've dug down two sides of it. On one side
it appears to be 24" deep, but on the other I ran into a rock shelf at one
foot. I don't know if that is a shelf of the boulder I need to remove or
another boulder under it.
I need to be able to split the boulder into manageable chunks. And if much
of the boulder is more than a foot below ground I need to split it off.
