Sculptor Ned Kahn
I learned about the sculptor Ned Kahn this morning on the radio, and so
I went to look for his work when I got to my computer.

Go down to Web Resources and then his web site.
I was very keen to see what they had been talking about, and now I'm
strangely disappointed. These works are almost all interactive mobiles
of some sort, and so maybe the "magic" only appears when you can
actually see the flow (or waves, or whatever) but for all the beautiful
changing patterns that I'm sure come about there is no emotion in them.
I'm also a bit disappointed that I'm disappointed, because I tend to
think that its more the viewer bringing the reaction than the sculptor
deliberately inducing it (think of a sunset). But this makes me think
I'm wrong.
Note: There is some stone work involved so the topic is not totally
inappropriate for this group.
