saw blades
Hello Norman,
I use dry blades, so someone else can give you better advice on going wet.
I only purchase blades which specifically say "DRY" on them. I work
outside, so dust is not my concern. But I am not a big fan of the idea of
mixing electricity and water (not just on the stone, but standing in water
while running a 15 amp electric grinder?).
I make 5 or 6 cuts at a time and then knock them out giving the grinder a
chance to rest in between. I rarely feel I am overheating the blade. I use
a 5" blade on an angle grinder and mostly carve marble. Perhaps if I were
using bigger blades or cutting for long periods of time, or carving harder
stones, I would consider a wet system. I'm not sure the mud, rubber clothes
and water clean up issues would be such an improvement over the dust though.
Regards,
John Halter
