Feasability of a Big Lathe? Columns
Dear John,
There are huge number of marble columns being made these days but and think
it is a big but very few of them are solid.
I get my marble form Cairns marble in North Queensland Australia and they do
a roaring business selling exotic marble to the people who make marble
columns for the big international hotels etc.Singapore I think.
The way these are made would be very exciting to see as they cut semi
circular veneer sections that are eventually attached to concrete columns
each block of stone makes many columns as it is cut like onion rings.
