Constantine Seferlis was born and trained in Greece. He worked for many
years on the Washington Cathedral, and also worked on the U.S. Capital and
the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. He did extensive
restoration carving for the Smithsonian Castle and on plaques inside the
Washington Monument. He taught a stone carving program at Northern Virginia
Community College, and also taught in his own studio; he had many students.

You can see some of his work at
http://stonecarversguild.com/m_seferlis.htm and you'll find a lot on him if
you Google his name.
