Pneumatic tires on hydraulic lift table
Bill,
I've got a hydraulic lift table, and keep finding new uses for it. It is a
great tool to have around the shop.
As a general rule I don't like to carve on any kind of table with wheels. I
walk the stone onto a heavy banker that stays in place. But there is not any
reason other then personal preference that finds me carving on a wheel less
banker. Go ahead and work on the table and if it bounces around to much,
then put some timbers under it to get the wheels clear of the floor.
Mine has one wheel that has a break shoe that really holds it still. I don't
think pneumatic tires would have any effect on air hammer carving because
the action is smooth and continues. Anyway with some timbers and wedges
under the frame, you can take the weight off the tires.
I like the idea of rolling on plywood also.
