Raised lead lettering
Hi Simon,
I googled for "lead lettering" and found a whole bunch of stuff on the
subject.
There is a course offered on it. Here's the link.
[URL now obsolete]
It's at a Bath College. I don't know where that is but I'm happy to see
that it still being taught and learned.
It's seems that there is an way of telling how old a monument is by
measuring how eroded the stone is next to the lead lettering. Interesting.
Good Luck,
John
P.S. Now you've gone and done it. This is something that I'm going to play
at.
