Hello Again All, and thanks to everyone for information you have shared with
me about building a bridge saw, Ken I have read your description of your
saw set-up, am I right in thinking that the complete system is hydraulically
driven, including the blade itself, if so is there a setup that provides an
increase in fluid to maintian blade speed if you are making a deep cut, or
do you reduce to rate of saw travel to compensate for the extra load. Also,
am I right in thinking that your table rolls back and forth to load/unload
stone? I assume that the saw gantry itself moves back and forth as well as
the saw moving left and right, how about depth of cut adjustment?, does
whole travel beam of the saw lower and rise or is it just the blade and its
direct components that move up and down, speaking about setting up bevel
cuts, we made up a jig out of steel plate that was hinged to adjust for
angles and a couple holes drilled and 7/8" nuts welded on, we could then use
a couple long bolts threaded down through the holes and nuts until
contacting the table surface, then it was just a matter of screwing in
bolts, as they threaed in, one wing of the jig lifted until we got the angle
we desired, it was a simple fix for a tricky and what can be a dangerous
process. I'm looking forward to seeing your saw photos Ken, sounds like you
have and pretty good set-up.

Thanks Again All

Shawn
